I could see Israel giving back Gaza, but not the West Bank..

Besides, Jordan renounced their claims to that territory back in 1989(?), after 41 years of griping that the Jews took it from them... :0)

The best Israel and the Palestinian people can hope for is a demilitarization of the West Bank. And that will require the castration of both Arafat and the Islamic militants.

Only then can more moderate Palestinian leadership come to be in control... A leadership more focused on the economic betterment of the Palestinian people rather than engaging in long-standing grudge matches.

Israel tried to give Gaza back to Egypt when they negotiated the Camp David accords in 1979. Egypt wouldn't have it at any price -- better it should be the Israeli's headache.
