P.S. It's not obvious that Pequot lost money on Rambus. They were holders from before the 2000 run up.

As of June 30, Yahoo still shows Pequot Captial Management as holding 5 million shares of RMBS:

I figure the above will eventually be updated. As to when they bought, I believe it predates the run up:
