<<OT>> How unfortunate that Al Gore is not president. I am sure we can all point to several differences we would likely be seeing that would have headed off the Clinton recession. As I am a GW fan, I am obviously much too stupid to list them myself. Why don't you give me a hand by listing them for us on this thread. Let me at least try to help. The ozone treaty implementation would undoubtedly be a great stimulus to the economy by raising costs of production in America and other G7 countries. The lack of a tax cut would also be an economic plus. TIA, Scott
PS-It is certain that we will still be in recession for the next presidential election and that everyone in the country will blame GW and be thirsting for the return of the economically friendly Democrats.

If PIMCO is right GE is a goner

In addition to that with Montgomery Ward going down the bankruptcy tube, GE's write-off mechanism is also gone.
How long can GE pump up earnings using that derivative special from GE's Capital ?
Now it's make's sense as to why GE was desperate to buy Honeywell.
Count down for GE should start sooner rather later.
General opinion is that Jack Welch is the one of the world's best CEO.

BTW di the Treasury Secy fill you with confidence the other day?.

I think his opinion has vested interest rather than public interest.
