I got around that two ways. First, I try not to buy Microsoft software. Second, if I have to, I don't use the default install, but select exactly what I do and don't want installed. So far I've managed to keep Netscape as my primary browser. Thankfully.

Qhahog, I use IE6 and prefer it but recently downloaded and installed Netscape 4.72 in addition. I kept IE as the default, but sometimes open Netscape as well. The two browsers coexist without conflict. Netscape asked to be default and I said 'no'.
