Boomer were born, 1948 - 1958

Not immediately after WWII, but it started 4 - 5 years after, once prosperity start the big upturn in the US Domestic life style.

I consider myself a boomer, born in 1954.

Katherine,
Baby boom originially did fit your criteria but boom continued longer so demographically its import is in the 18 year cycle. Having been born in 1945 I agree with your definition and hope to be "grandfathered" in now that I am a grandfather. Reason i was born in 1945 rather than 1946 is that my mom visited my dad in Texas in 1944 but I should count, shouldn't I? mike
