Well, if it is in the DNA, science hasn't found it yet. So we don't know. That's speculation on your part, not knowledge.

Science has more volumes than there are law-books
showing that DNA is the blue-print that leads to the
formation of the full completely developed
human organism .

We share 98% plus or more of the same genes as our
closest relative the chimpanzee. The Chimpannzee
also demonstrates self awareness.

The consciousness you want to say that science
can't prove the existence of , is happening everyday
with each new birth and developing human thru
the growth directed by DNA .

The tools to comprehend this are very much in existence
just as there are the tools and studies to trace back
much of man's lineage and history by the study
of his tools and artifacts left behind...or you can derive
much that is recorded in written history and more
recent stories of our wanderings and developement.

Is it mere unprovable speculation that we most probably
lived very much akin to our primate cousins in
modes and methods of survival ?

My complete statement , which you just posted but
didn't read was DNA is the blue-print , consciousness
arises as the formation and growth of the
human organism
arises .

The soul or self evolves as the organism grows
and developes...just as we as a species----> over time did.

You do realize that you are a biological organism
don't you Chris ? A human organism. Homo Sapien.
An advanced primate . You grew , developed and evolved
as a person .

Yes? Or just unprovable speculation ?

I could give you some links to the classification
of your species if you like .

I am not sure what my position is in this question but it is a very worthy question. I would like to have a better definition of "Awareness."

I would say that a green plant is aware of the Sun. It seeks its light and carries on a relationship through photosynthisis. It is aware at some level of its own biology and assumes a position that is beneficial to its own needs. I would even say that a green plant worships, as all creatures worship the creator of life without question or doubt (except humans). Do they do it with a conscience? I don't think so. Are they aware of their position in history? I doubt it. They are pretty much just here and now in their awareness.

Much of what distinguishes humans is our awareness of eternal possibilities, we can do this because our conscience is tweeked by our souls. Were scientists to able to associate DNA with a human soul we could definitely determine the moment that an embryo becomes more than biology. I don't believe we have a human soul at conception, yet we have all of our DNA. So for me it is not possible to answer your question by looking at DNA.
