The i2 User Group and i2 Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq:ITWO.Q), the leading provider of dynamic value chain solutions, today announced the introduction of the 'Ken Sharma Award for Excellence.' The award, to be presented at the upcoming PLANET2001 in Las Vegas on October 15, will recognize leading companies for the pioneering work they have done in the area of value chain transformation using i2 solutions. The award is open to any of the more than 1,000 customers with i2 deployments either planned, in progress or completed. A panel consisting of i2 executives, representatives from the i2 User Group, and industry analysts from the META Group will review the applications and choose winners in a number of categories. Named in honor of Ken Sharma, an i2 co-founder and one of the original visionaries of value chain management, the award will recognize companies and project teams involved with breakthrough best practices in all major industries around the globe. Winners of the Ken Sharma Award will be announced at a special ceremony during PLANET2001 Las Vegas, which will include an audience comprised of hundreds of executives representing the world's largest companies across multiple industries, reporters and analysts. "We constantly witness our customers' advancements including cost of goods sold, inventory and cycle-time reductions, along with increased customer responsiveness and on-time delivery," said Hiten Varia, i2 chief delivery officer. "The Ken Sharma Award is a great opportunity for these customers to gain public recognition among their peers, the press, analysts, and their respective industries." The application is available online at i2.com.
