Teresa: Glad to hear you can focus on content now...The TrendVUE site is looking good and I look forward to reading your updates in the 20/20 Insight area. Its interesting that 'the experts' are telling us that many sectors of the tech world are in a recession and they should be avoided...we can see what's happened to the prices of the leading telecom, optics and software stocks. Yet, I'm starting to see some optimistic forecasts that relate to very strategic areas that leverage technology. This one arrived in an email newsletter earlier today...

CRM HEATS UP DESPITE ECONOMIC SLOWDOWN

New findings by the Cahners In-Stat Group predicts that
CRM software revenue will continue to grow, from a
projected $9.4 billion in 2001 to $30.6 billion by
the end of 2005. Despite the current economic slowdown,
operational CRM (automated online and telephone
processes associated with B2C sales, marketing or
service) will grow 30 to 40 percent year over year between
2002 and 2005. The Scottsdale, AZ-based firm reports
that much of this growth will come from European and Asia
Pacific regions. Currently, large companies account for 78
percent of the software revenue, with only $490 million
coming from mid-sized companies. However, In-Stat says
the mid-level market will steadily make up a greater portion
of software revenue beginning next year. In-Stat's study is
titled "The 3 Faces of CRM -- Analysis of the Worldwide
Customer Relationship Management Marketplace."
