You touched on a number of topics, MM, and it wasn't clear to me that all of your remarks were related to portfolio allocation. I'm in full agreement that selecting the components of a portfolio is the the horse, while writing covered calls is merely the cart.

Thanks for introducing the concept of "pseudo-naked covered calls". It's a very useful way to describe the situation many long term qcom holders put themselves in, and neatly describes the risk level they assume when writing cc's.
