Hoadley's spreadsheet is excellent and I have just gone through the demos again including the one that covers volatility. I think the graphical representation of the positions for me is particularly helpful in understanding how much profit is left in a posittion as expiration approaches. Too often I calculate the return at expration when I enter a position and then hold to expiration hoping to make that return. In many cases I think I would be better off closing the position early, taking a large part of the profit (though not 100%) and eliminating further exposure to the position. That spreadsheet should help with that decision making.

Unfortunately it requires Windows and I am a Mac user. I am struggling with the way to resolve this. Fidelity's PowerStreet, which allows a wider variety of online trades, and a number of other option software modules I have encountered also require Windows to run the downloaded software. (Gorilla Gamers are smiling knowingly as they read this) I have PM'd Faultline about running Windows emulation software on a Mac and that may be the solution unless someone knows of similar software for a Mac.
