1. I doubt if as many as 7 gorillas exist.
2. The usual result of taking other people's tips is poor performance.
3. Uncle Frank would certainly assure you that this thread is not for stock recommendations but rather for considerations of gorillas' comparative advantages etc, and associated valuation matters.
4. The market won't run away. You might do well to leave your cash in the bank for a while and sit down and study. There's lots to learn.
Aside from owning gorillas, almost all of us favour some ballast, e.g. cash equivalents and/or stocks which grow more slowly but which are more or less independent of the economic cycles.
5. 3 to 5 year horizon IMHO is not the right picture. I think we should buy at a reasonable price and intend to hold on forever but of course either overvaluation or a major change in the technology would cause us to sell.
