Pravin, Re: "I wonder where the P4 1.5+ Ghz retail systems are. Seems they are a "no-show" at retail, even though they have been released for some time. It seems like we have shifted from Mhz sells, to value sells."

No, things have shifted from zero Pentium 4 systems being offered in retail, to low end systems being offered. This is an improvement, but they still have a long way to go. I think 1.5GHz systems at $800 price points, and 1.7GHz systems at $1000 price points will help.

What do you think about Intel's margin this quarter? I think that mid quarter update conference call (September 6th) will be more negative than the street thinks. I think there is a good possibility that Intel's revenue AND margin will decline this quarter. That could put them pretty close to break even, maybe even in the red this quarter! Look out!

Servers are slow, both Dell and HP confirmed this. Even Dell guided for a sequential decline in revenues, that is after they predicted continued market share gains! Intel made its guidance last month, Dell made its guidance last week with one extra month of visibility.

To me it seems the only money to be made is on the short side. And INTC is a good candidate because it has held up well over the past 6 months, it is expensive and street is still dreaming about its earnings.

Comments? Anyone?
