does the world really need yet another multi-billion dollar fab?

The more pertinent question pertains to whether "another multi-billion fab" has a unique niche to make it viable.

Sandisk signed an "Additional Purchase Obligation Agreement" dated July 4, 2000, under which Sandisk may purchase 2,700,000 additional shares of Tower Semiconductor (TSEM) under a warrant upon the exercise of a warrant, at an exercise price of $30 per share, bringing Sandisk's ownership of Tower Semiconductor (TSEM) up to 21.97%.

Furthermore, Sandisk must give notice of exercise of the warrant on or before October 1, 2001.

Ladies and gentlemen, truly, Sandisk's decision, particularly at this time, will speak volumes!...do you not agree?
