She has professed attachment to her own principles, not because they are true, but because they are hers. She has derided the idea that one can in any sense know something about these matters; she has disdained the idea that justice exists independently of arbitrary convention; she has repeatedly exaggerated the differences in human valuation, rather than the common ground of human values; and she has belligerently challenged the ground upon which one can lay claim to principles. She has not only shown contempt for the beliefs, but expressed distaste for those who hold them.........

It seems to me, as well, that the typical targets of X's sharp tongue are those who argue that there is a package of fixed human truths, values, principles which has been established by a deity.

I would be the obvious antithesis of this statement.

And kholt, I feel quite strongly that brees statement is very "accurate" indeed.
