wanna_bmw:

"We are getting signals that business for Intel is firming going into the last month of the quarter, which we take as a positive sign the company can hit the low-end of its revenue guidance of $6.2-$6.8 billion."

Intel will meet guidance."

And if they can't meet guidance just lower it some more so that they can...The big picture is INTC revenues of $33.7 billion in 2000 will fall by at least 20% to somewhere around $27 billion (if really lucky) in Y2001! Ouch...but according to INTC they do continue to gain market share! ggg.

"Albert, Joseph also says this:
We are getting signals that business for Intel is firming going into the last month of the quarter, (...)"

Maybe Intel is actually selling huge numbers of processors to the OEMs for the anticipated big i845+SDRAM roll-out. But what happens if the public is not as dump as these OEMs (and Intel) believe and just refuses to buy those poor performing systems?
