Deeber If I were you, I'd get a recording of any telecons you have with them that reaffirm they have a recording of the entire conversation and representations made. That way, if their recording mysteriously disappears, you have something to back up the fact that there was a recording and they lost the "smoking gun" evidence. If they lose it, it clearly demonstrates bad faith and shenanigans on their part. jmo Best of luck to you ... just remember, this too will pass and hopefully will result in some form of amicable, but still somewhat painful, solution.
