I printed your description of northern cal yestrerday and showed it to my wife. She almost criecd. A year and a half ago we made the trip from SF to to the wine country to Tahoe and then drove over Ebbets Pass to Yosemite and ended the trip in Carmel. The best vacation i ever had. Would move in a minute if (a) kids lived there, (b)had a job there (c) was really daring. mike

PS Best B&B i ever stayed at was in wine country. I will get the name if anyone is interested.

AD,

If the Fed removes the bias tomorrow, I'd predict a sharp rally regardless of what it does to the Funds or the Discount rates. Given 2 consecutive months of LEI gains (June and July), and that we're more than 1/2 way through August, I'd expect a more optimistic outlook from the Fed is imminent. If not tomorrow, then at their subsequent meeting.

FWIW,
Ian
