Well, as I said, everyone else on the planet thinks if someone is described as having repeatedly mentioned her distaste for something, that the person actually did mention her distaste for something.

"Along those lines" is of course very subjective. That's why it's considered best among respectable people to distinguish between rhetorical interpretation and purported attribution, ie quotes. What you think is "along those lines" i might think is dunderheaded misinterpretation. Therefore we have a convention of distinguishing, when reporting, between what is said by a person and what is concluded by an enemy of the person. I named the exceptions to that planetary rule, and was correct.
