Well in Vietnam the bad guys were supplied by a world power as a part of their global policies. In Columbia a Mafia supported by selling drugs is attempting to create or defend it's power base over that of a free democratic government.

As to the sad death by the plane shoot down, you have your facts all wrong. The local Government plane shot down the plane while communicating with a plane with US personnel aboard. I've heard the tapes and sadly the poor cummunication because of a language difference clearly show that the error was caused by a not to bright local Government pilot. The US plane was saying clearly not to shoot and just follow.

Clinton escalated the force presence in Columbia. Clinton proposed and passed the multi-billion aid and materiel package to Columbia. Mr. I Didn't Inhale dug us deeper into the Columbian civil war - on account of the Drug War.
