HI BWAC, you have to be a student of history to be able to understand the parallels. I think Roosevelt's New Deal did wonders for the economy, although there are many who think that the government should never interfere in market dynamics. If we dip into recession, I sure hope the government starts spending to offset the crash that will have occurred in consumer and business spending. Otherwise, most of us who have been diligent about saving for retirement will find that not much is left.
