<Who will turn first?> hearing some talking up Japan.Japanese have been hoarding for sometime(typical ,behavoiral pattern shift when population goes into a pessimism shift). So they do have signicant plus side savings where as we are negative savings. So their consumers are in a much better position to re-ignite their economy than ours are--as i have stated this optimism/pessimism cycle is a powerful one, slow to happen slow to reverse.
We are now on the edge of a cliff, any let up by our in debt consumers will start to lock-in an equity cycle into the pit.If this desperate need to keep consumers spending was being asked of signicant savings positive consumers i would have not such a bearish view.
Time and again we hear the fundamental reason for optimism based on "the consumer is still spending like there is no tomorrow",but these enthusiast don't look beyond their nose and these enthusiast always think today's trend is tomorrow's trend.Consumers are still spending now they observe, therefore, obviously they will keep doing this.
The very same mindset that led to this disaster.CSCO is growing at 50% now therefore they will be doing so endlessly and they then price the stock to literally insane levels. This price mark up is STILL in many of these stocks.
I still see EBAY as a 10dollar stock based on it's growth assumption is quite mad, imo.Max
