You could try the list I came up with a while back. it was in response to a very negative young fellow, both in investing and life, who was chiding me about my attitude:

1. Find a good woman to share your life with
2. Have some kids and love them to pieces
3. Take a job working for people you can respect
4. Do some volunteer work and make life better for those less fortunate than you
5. Make some investments in good companies and watch them grow
6. Don't take yourself too seriously
7. Don't judge others by your own standards
8. Perform some acts of random kindness
9. Get a pet who will love you unconditionally

Bottom line, it's your choice to opt for negativity or optimism.
