Myriad Genetics fiscal Q4 loss narrows -9c vs -10c

SALT LAKE CITY, Aug 21 (Reuters) - Biotechnology firm
Myriad Genetics Inc. <MYGN.O> on Tuesday reported a narrower
fourth-quarter loss, as its total revenues climbed.
The Salt Lake City, Utah-based company, which studies genes
and proteins to develop drug therapies, posted a net loss for
the quarter ended June 30 of $2.2 million, or 9 cents a share,
compared with a loss of $2.6 million, or 12 cents, in the
year-earlier period.
Analysts expected the firm to post a loss in a range of 7
cents to 12 cents per share, or 10 cents a share on average,
according to 10 brokers polled by Thomson Financial/First Call.
Total product revenue for the latest quarter climbed to
$10.8 million from $9.2 million a year earlier.
"During the past year, Myriad moved well down the path
towards becoming a leading biopharmaceutical product company,"
President and Chief Executive Officer Peter Meldrum said in a
statement. "The company now has a prostate cancer drug in human
clinical trials and a full pre-clinical drug pipeline that
represents an exciting opportunity to move several breakthrough
products into the clinic over the coming year."

Watching for MYGN earnings, looks like they may have missed by 1 cent? Edit: Came in 1 cent better I think. Expected loss 10 Cents, came in loss 9 cents.
