First of all you are wrong about them taking to long to get you the shares. If you read the split notice properly you would have seen that it was a "surrender split". It was structured so to probably try and squeeze the shorts. Your stock had to be surrendered to get 26 new shares for each one. It took the company/transfer agent a week to get the new shares out. I was short the same stock and just because my account showed 200 shares valued at ~$3 it doesn't mean that i could cover for $600 when I recieved $7200 for the short sale @ 36. It took almost 10 days for the other shares to hit my account. Obviously I knew i owed 5200 shares so I traded the stock accordingly to get out of the postion (with a profit I might add).

You tried to take advantage of a clerical mistake and a dumb order taker, don't cry sour grapes cause it ended up comming back to stick it to ya. Remember this, there ain't no free lunch so everytime you think you got one you better be ready to get the bill sooner or later.

I agree with whoever said you let your greed make your decisions and now you are paying for it. My guess is you get little or nothing. I manage 6 different accounts and adress all mistakes by brokers ASAP. Time was not your friend here. Sorry for your loss but I would venture a guess it stays "your loss"

And FTR, I doubt you ever hear that tape. Just my experienced opinion. Those tapes are for your brokers protection, not yours
