"many patients using marijuana legally as a last resort for nausea associated with chemotherapy (cancer and AIDS), glaucoma, and spastic disorders do indeed seem to derive significant therapeutic benefit. In chemotherapy patients, not only does THC reduce the nausea and vomiting, but it provides appetite stimulus to ameliorate wasting syndromes as a bonus side effect, especially valuable for AIDS patients. At the same time, favorable evidence continues to accrue as results are reported in such peer-reviewed publications as JAMA, Lancet, Annals of Internal Medicine, Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, and NEJM.
