Eureka! China! Isn't it beautiful? This thread has managed to dig a hole to China! Can we stop now?

It is a good rule to follow the first law of holes: if you are in one, stop digging."

t seems to me that people, in the broader sense, were trying to tell E that
brees had appropriately characterized X, which is not the same thing as
saying that he hadn't lied although it might subsume lying.

Sigh. At the risk of violating CR's edict and keeping digging, this is NOT what I was trying to tell E, as I hoped I had made clear long ago. Or maybe you weren't including me in the "people" your post was speaking of.

Before I pick up my shovel, let me ask specifically: am I or am I not one of the "people" you refer to? If yes, I will have to explain myself further simply because your good opinion of me is too important to me to allow me to let you think that of me without responding. If no, I will happily desist from further digging in this particular hole.
