That would only make sense if Morgan binned better than Spitfire. But by all indication it doesn't. (higher voltage, Palomino only up to 1.2 GHz available, delays, rumored higher voltage for desktop Palomino etc. pp.) But maybe there's a third possibility: AMD just want to concentrate on only one core family (Palomino/Morgan) instead of two.

Available evidence does not support this hypothesis. The Duron is pretty much the same as the Thunderbird in terms of ramping (certainly, it is no worse), and if anything the evidence is that Morgan (new Duron) ramps *worse* than Spitfire (old Duron), at least at this stage.
