FYI...the Goat Curse Sorry for the All Caps...it's a cut and paste job... EVERYTHING CHANGES THRU THE YEARS ! THIS IS HOW THE "BILLY GOAT CURSE" GOT PUT ON THE CUBS : ON OCT. 6TH 1945 A GREEK TAVERN OWNER BY THE NAME OF "BILLY GOAT" SIANIS BOUGHT BOX SEATS FOR HIM AND HIS GOAT. IT WAS THE 4TH GAME OF THE WORLD SERIES. THE CUBS HAD WON 2 OUT OF 3 IN DETROIT AND WAS FAVORED NOW TO WIN. IN THE PAST HE WAS ALWAYS ALLOWED TO BRING HIS GOAT TO THE GAMES. THIS TIME THE MANAGEMENT SAID NO TO THE GOAT. THEY ESCORTED SIANIS AND HIS GOAT OUT OF WRIGLEY FIELD. THAT PISSED SIANIS OFF! IN FRONT OF WRIGLEY FIELD HE RAISED BOTH HANDS AND SAID, "THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER WORLD SERIES PLAYED IN WRIGLEY FIELD." THE TIGERS WON THE NEXT 3 OUT OF 4 AND THE CUBS HAVEN'T BEEN IN THE SERIES SINCE. I DIDN'T BELIEVE IN THE CURSE UNTIL 1969 WHEN THE CUBS HAD A BIG LEAD WITH ONLY 2 WEEKS LEFT IN THE SEASON . THEY BLEW IT ! PLUS THEY HAD ALL STARS AT ABOUT EVERY POSITION! THEN OF COURSE THERE WAS 84 & 89. (WIERD ENDINGS). I'M SURE THE CUBS WILL BE IN THE SERIES THE 1ST YEAR OUT OF WRIGLEY FIELD. ....off/on topic....rolled some Fed dice today with QQQIO....just for fun... Go Cubs, Minos
