*Special Situations Work Well Even In A Bearish Sector Trend And there are always one or 2 hiding out there somewhere. The trick is to dig em out. Sometimes you find em on your own. Sometimes another guy comes up with the idea. It doesn't matter once your own DD makes the decision that you've got a winner no matter what the sector trend is. Remember I caught almost as much heat for the big top call as Sly did back in Jan folks. We each came to the same conclusion independently using our respective tools and analysis methods. And we both pushed throughout in many posts throughout Jan/Feb on the old thread, notwithstanding being pilloried by the then "perma bulls". Don't misunderstand. Not criticizing anyone who went diving under the nearest bar stool back then. But let's acknowledge that Sly and I stood our ground virtually alone against massed ankle bitting attacks by the now notorious toy clown dog army.<lol> BUT... And a very important but it is. In spite of my commitment to the primary sector trend call from Jan down, there is ALWAYS the rare "special situation" that will make you a lot of money. LOILY was that play AND stated to be my largest portfolio position from when finished loading up (per post) in early Jan till... TWO WEEKS AGO when I took a 50% profit. I'm not bragging. Afterall, I did NOT discover LOILY. Tomas (who lives in Sweden I believe) gave me the idea. And publicly thanked him early this year once realizing the little lo vol E&P micro cap was going to be a big winner, and finished loading up in Jan! Point is only to show from my own trades ytd that there are rare special situations which the sector trend can't prevent from making the alert investor a big profit. Trick is to know when you OR someone else has found one. Right now I'm working on another one. Be glad to post a summary about it, hopefully by the end of the week, IF you folks are interested.
