Fortunately for you, poison oak is only in the West.

Excuse me. When I was in the fifth grade, my parents built a home on wooded land. Before the back yard was cleared for a lawn, my friends and I tried playing there. We all managed to miss some school with terrible cases of what we were told was poison oak. This was in New Jersey. I've been telling this story all my life. Have I been lying? Certainly wouldn't want to do that.
