I agree with you. It's part nature, part nurture.

But the more experience I have with kids, the further my needle swings away from nurture toward nature. Not that nurture isn't vitally important. It is. But I also note that geneticists are finding genetic predispositions to many things, including violence. If a child has a genetic disposition toward violence, I'm not sure there is a whole lot a parent can do to turn her into a pacifist.
