I do not think that anyone would have been so foolish as to suppose that she overtly characterized herself in that way, although I agree that the use of the term "mentioned" was inaccurate. After all, no one demonizes herself, right? Therefore, it was obvious that he was to some extent extrapolating from what she did say........Did he need a smiley? or are you being absurdly literal- minded?
