Clint, I am having problems seeing a catalyst to get the indices higher in the next few weeks, unless the semi BTB comes in above expectations. We might get a rally after labour day if the fund managers come back and decide that stocks are too low given the reduced guidance, but that can't last. The end of October is then tax loss selling, though many funds may have few capital gains to offset. Then November/December is tax loss selling for the guy on the street. They have the same scenario as the funds though.
