Texas energy companies, but they provided only 10% of the electricity purchased by the state

Don't forget to point out that the energy supplied within the state needed natural gas provide by these companies (like El Paso Electric) at 7 or 8 times the price they charged anyone else.

And yet, I don't think anyone could have handled it any better. How much of the total State needs does the $60B represent? In 1999, the total cost of electricity to the State was over $7B (7*15 =105).
