60% of those incarcerated are drug related. Could this be the problem? Is the rate that high!? For the record, I believe the ongoing drug war to be less winnable than Vietnam was -- much less, and many people's lives are ruined through the combined stupidity of their drug abuse and the Gestapo-like attitude of the drug law enforcers. Both sides need to back off and come up with better solutions and not be so stubborn about staying on their mutually destructive paths.... But I am not going to hold my breath waiting for the misguided individuals on both sides to listen to me. The ongoing unwinnable drug war also erodes our personal freedoms as time goes by....
