One factor about minimum wage (living wage) that free marketeers never seem to address is the effect on the market (economy) of an increased ability of a reasonably large group of wage earners to consume products and services. If you raise the purchasing abilities of a sizeable group in the work force and they in turn consume more products and services???... seems it would (could) have a potentially very positive effect on the economy?

I am not the least bit surprised that some of my thoughts/ideas or my version of the free market may be incomprehensible to you, because much of the time I think outside of the envelope or even as if I just arrived here from another planet, which is fine with me because most of us on planet earth are bloody nuts! (in my opinion) On backward and relatively primitive planet earth, we are stuck with the same old dogma and ways of thinking that over compensate certain priviledged individuals, even when their performance leaves much to be desired, while our system abuses others who perform valuable and necessary tasks like cleaning toilets, preparing food or picking produce that goes on our eating table.... We have much to learn. Personally, I would much rather have someone making a living wage preparing my food, cleaning the restrooms I visit, or picking the produce I must eat to survive in a healthy state of being, as the attitude they hold about their work will be on average much more positive, and much of the bitterness (sour grapes) toward those they serve would wither away and die on the proverbial vine....
