This article is interesting IMO: "Intel Will Cut Chip Prices up to 54%, Accelerate Push for Faster Processors" public.wsj.com snip __________ "Mr. Edelstone predicts Pentium 4 prices will drop even further at the end of October, when he estimates that the two-gigahertz Pentium 4 will tumble more than 28% to $400 and the 1.9-gigahertz chip will fall 27% to $275. Some analysts also expect steep cuts on chips for laptop computers in the fall." __________ FWIW, If I were looking to buy a computer, I would seriously consider deferring the purchase for a couple months in order to take advantage of one of these high speed low cost offerings. I can't imagine this type of news is going to help PC sales in the near term. AdvocateDevil
