And that is where I think Amd's future prospects will lie. The chips have become so cheap that they should start to replace the cheaper simpler versions in cars and microwaves etc. Cars have the potential to use as many chips as computers. The margins may not be as good, but the volume could increase dramatically.


Harry, good point. I didn't see those potential markets for AMD. Right now, aren't most 'chips' used in cars discreet semiconductors or diodes?

There are some semis already selling advanced chips to the naval and aerospace sectors already. Is AMD talking about doing the same?
