Too too harsh on Deeber!

I had a similar experience, with Pershing. The on-line transaction report was correct, the paper transaction was correct, and at the end of the month... I still had half a position short!

It took HOURS on the phone. Fortunately for all, the price whipsawed right back to basis, and we all breathed a sigh of relief. Until the year-end report came out and I had to explain to my tax guy how half again as many shares as listed really never existed!

So, I say "Not so harsh on Deeber!" He was just trying to protect himself from an error, not rip anybody off. This sort of thing doesn't happen every day- but I learned to stay clear on the day of a split!

I'm pleasantly surprised to find myself agreeing with Anthony@

So Dweeber, is Anthony@ correct about the sequence of events? If not, where is he wrong?
