Wednesday August 22, 10:31 am Eastern Time US economy to pick up late 2001, into 2002-W.House WASHINGTON, Aug 22 (Reuters) - The U.S. economy will likely pick back up late this year and into 2002, White House budget director Mitch Daniels said on Wednesday. ``We are expecting a return to economic growth at the end of this year, the first of next year and ... back on a reasonable growth track from then on,'' Daniels told reporters at a news briefing on the Bush administration's latest budget estimates. Daniels noted that the administration's forecast was in line with estimates from private economists.
