But SCMR is trading below 5 so having 800 hundred shares at 5 reduces your portfolio value to 4000 after paying 6000 (excluding commissions and assignment costs), in the end you are only up 20 cents based on the minimal time premium collected. Why not write the 5 dollar puts? Of course if you want assignment and think the stock can rally from here then it could be a viable strategy.
