Hot Topic (HOTT: news, chart, profile) added more than 3 percent after the company reported second-quarter net income of $4.3 million, or 19 cents per share, compared with net income of $3.1 million, or 15 cents per share a year before. Revenue rose to $71.9 million from $51.7 million. Analysts were looking for earnings of 19 cents per share, according to the consensus estimate of those polled by Thomson Financial/First Call.
