Pete, that was me! I have always recognized there is a qualitative difference between the way Q! does business and the way MSFT does business.

My disagreement is what governments should do about it and what it means for everyone. I don't think it matters that MSFT leverages their Windows monopoly into Netscape's business, demands exclusive relationships and so on. If people think that's such a great way of doing business and will make huge profits, they should buy the company. If they don't like it, they can buy competitive products. [Which proves there is no monopoly unless the boundaries are so tightly drawn that the monopoly is defined as, "Something that Microsoft is doing".

I won't bore you again with the whole rant. Suffice to say I have NOT changed my opinions. I have not owned and won't own MSFT shares because I prefer Irwin's way of doing business and think he'll create greater value in the long run.

Meanwhile, I just love those Intel, Compaq, Texas Instruments CDMA-enabled notebook computer, iPaq etc developments ...
