IMO, A man so bent on believing that Jesus was not the Messiah could not have allowed himself to be a part of a project that ALLOWED Bibles to be used in school as learning tools, even if it was the only available tool.

Well you can interpret purity and simplicity that way but you do it by leaving out the rest of the words. Original purity and simplicity of it's benevolent institutor. Thomas Jefferson understanding of the benevolent institutor came from the bible and in the bible Christ's declares simplicity is to love god above all and one's neighbor as oneself. So your rationale seems a very complex stretch and purely devoid of simple truth or reason. Oh the above is the simple doctrine and God is a supernatural concept. All the other specifics you mentioned are accepted or not by different churches. One could not know what is in anyones mind today, nevermind in centuries past.
