it will be interesting to see how much is covered in the next reporting period

I have been waiting for that number to decline since 56M. It is now 94M. When that number did not decline after April reporting period, I knew there was still trouble ahead and behaved accordingly. I for one do not believe the end of the world is nigh, but we shall see.

Of note is the Yahoo site uses Reuters info. That info can be very very misleading. They list short ratio as 6.5 days, now they use very recent trading volumes whereas previously they used a 30 day average. The 94M number represents about 17.7% of the float. Indeed, subtracting the 56M shorts to account for preferred convertibles still leaves us with about 7.2% of the float shorted, and those shorts can be counted on to cover if a move upwards were to occur.
