Thanks Jerome. I agree that the Max Pain Point is of limited value but even BCA (which provides the data) makes clear that it's an "all other things being equal" factor and when is that ever the case? I like it as an academic study. I think that there may be more to the analysis of open interest levels in indicating support and resistance levels. You can scan the open interest in an option chain or view the information in graph form through Schaeffer's Daily Sentiment service. Do you pay any attention to put/call ratios? Mark
