Quotable quotes Optimism has waned somewhat after the news of the higher than expected GDP had time to sink in. The Gross Domestic Product came in higher than expected, posting a .2 percent growth that, while less than it has been, was higher than the zero growth predicted by analysts. Nonetheless, traders are viewing that as a not-as-bad-as-it-could-be scenario, because that number is well off the original consensus estimate of .7 percent, and it's seen as preventing what could have been a really awful day rather than sparking a good day.
