I know MRVL.

The company has sales of $300M and a 3Bn market cap.

Kash, the market cap has fluctuated between $1.6 and 3.0 over the last 6 mos.

And I misspoke...you wanted revs over a billion. Unfortunately after 11 at nite, I become dyslexic. I was reviewing MRVL for a possible trade and therefore, it was on my mind when I posted to you.

They have modest growth.

The YOY growth is due to galileo acquisiation.

I don't think that's correct. I think there growth YOY is due to stealing market share from BRCM. The source I use for fundamentals, Market Guide typically would fold in past revs of Galileo so that the comparison is apples to apples. If they don't do that, they footnote it. The only footnote was to point out the issuance of new shares for the acquisition.

Profits are range of few millions/qtr.

Buying them would be insane.

There is no market synergy.

There is no fab synergy.

Why don't u come up with a better candidate?

I am not in acquisitions [at least not of companies] nor do I handle arbitrage. My point was that I think AMD is in an industry that's fast approaching replacement growth; and that its most likely it continue to be a poor second to Intel for the foreseeable future. Why waste your cash horde...a rare asset in AMD's history..on another price war? Why not check out semi market niches that have major new growth potential without an Intel looming over you? Niches like the ones that a BRCM or a MRVL or a PMCS or a ISIL or a MSCC work in. They are still relatively new and have a lot of growth potential without a 800 lb gorilla lurking in the shadows. Maybe AMD doesn't need to buy a MRVL for its IP; maybe they can do their own research. I just think diversification may be a way to go. Their current markets look too dead end and competitive. And I understand that diversification is easier said than done. Its just a suggestion.

Besides, I am not all that impressed with the guy to whom Sanders is bequeathing the company. I know you may disagree but a lot of the reason why AMD works IMO is because Sanders is so bull headed. Its been my experience people that stubborn and aggressive and battle ready don't come along very often.
