It would be a sad epitaph for Greenie if, after all his inflation-busting and the great economy during MOST of his term, he screwed up here near the end of his reign. He has to be feeling that pressure to not let this degenerate into a bad recession/depresssion. Will that matter? Who knows. It would seem that the fed WOULD have the power to hit the gas pedal. The question is will the car go?

Here in Silicon Valley, should there be a Crash in the Housing market --- the ones likely to be affected are those selling above $1M which not too long ago were selling below $1M. Those selling $700K or less are well received here. A house is not only an Investment but a place to live. To sell a house only to rent an apartment is not a good alternative.
