The concern is that each time posters express negative sentiments and fears, a new gate keeper comes along, start a moderated thread, and the cheerleading continues Ally, I do not fear anyone being run off this thread due to a difference of analysis nor a difference of opinion. I trust QV to keep the thread productive, which means eliminating the Skateboard Screamers, not eliminating Competition. I doubt very much if I am mistaken about this. BWAC has an analysis of this situation, and is obviously sensitive to the regeneration of the emotional hysteria which will eliminate any intelligent usage of this medium. At least, that is how I read it. After all, I have matches and gasoline too, yaknow <g>, but under scrutiny, the gasoline evaporates prior to ignition. I firmly believe on this thread the force of scrutiny will prevail, and we can either roast marshmallows with our certificates or we can have a productive campfire discussion.... We all recognize how easy it is to burn down a house, how difficult it is to build one. Simply examine the recent posts on the unmoderated GX thread to see how easily the graffiti is conquered when no hysteria is around. The problem being the single or few arsonist(s) on that thread are like fleas, they must be eliminated completely or they multiply. (deleted-name, mt) represents the flea, and I believe fleas are continually creating progeny on their own such as new screen names, attracting otherwise productive posters to get down on their level, etc. I do not believe we will have further problems with hysteria here. Fire is necessary to civilized life, but it has an ugly history and must be handled with discretion. end of novel. Vulcan
